HEY BEARS FANS...Pick up the "Bear Fight Songs" CD now!
The Handcuffs' own Chloe F. Orwell lent her vocal chords to a track on a brand
new CD of cool fight songs to help cheer on our hometown team Da' Bears as they head to the Superbowl. The song
is called "All Aboard" (track 2 of the CD) and is an awesome dance/pop number a la Gwen Stefani or Fergie.
Our own Brad Elvis, along with Chloe, was a co-producer of the song, and the CD features 12 tracks of fun, catchy,
sing-a-long fight songs (including "Bear Down Chicago Bears," which has never been available on a CD
until now). Order it from AMAZON.COM (if you order it today, you should get it in time for Superbowl Sunday). OR
if you're in the Chicago area, you can pick it up at JEWEL stores. It's sure to be collectible.

| WJMK looks to the East to find new morning star BY ROBERT FEDER SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST: mailto:feder@suntimes.com http://www.suntimes.com/output/feder/cst-fin-feder29.html (Thanks for the Link Dave - DZM), Two months after John Records Landecker involuntarily ended his 10-year run as morning personality, oldies WJMK-FM (104.3) announced the hiring of his replacement Tuesday. Paul Perry, who most recently hosted mornings at Infinity Broadcasting's WODS-FM in Boston, joins the Infinity station here next week. He's expected to be on the air by Nov. 5 along with news anchor Bonnie Greene and weatherman Brant Miller. Perry, 54, a Pittsburgh native, has been idle since Sept. 4, when WODS chose not to renew his contract after five years. Before that, he hosted mornings for eight years at WWBB-FM in Providence, R.I. "Paul exemplifies WJMK's continuing commitments to excellence, pride and teamwork," said Charley Lake, program director of Oldies 104.3. "With his hiring, a major piece of the puzzle has fallen into place as we continue to build Chicago's and America's greatest oldies station." Perry, who holds degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Syracuse University, has had a varied career in and out of radio. He hosted and produced local television shows in Boston, hosted radio talk shows in Boston and Providence, dabbled in radio station ownership and spent more than a decade as a communications instructor at the college level. Since Landecker was told his contract would not be renewed on Aug. 27, WJMK has been vamping in mornings with fill-in hosts. The rest of the station's on-air lineup remains stable with Greg Brown in middays, Fred Winston in afternoons and Dick Biondi in evenings. Since Oct. 7, Oldies 104.3 has faced a new challenge in the form of Clear Channel Communications' WRLL-AM (1690). Billed as "Real Oldies 1690," the competition features Chicago radio veterans Tommy Edwards and Larry Lujack in mornings and Ron Britain in afternoons. In the latest Arbitron quarterly survey, WJMK's morning show tied for 12th place with a 2.7 percent share and a cumulative weekly audience of 305,700. Overall, the station tied for ninth in the market with a 3.2 share and a weekly cume of 773,100. |

| New station to reunite 'Uncle Lar & Li'l Tommy' BY ROBERT FEDER SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST: mailto:feder@suntimes.com Clear Channel's new frequency at 1690 AM on the far end of the dial in west suburban Berwyn. If all goes as planned, Edwards will be joined on his morning show each weekday by his former "Animal Stories" partner, Larry Lujack. The prospect of reuniting "Uncle Lar and Li'l Tommy" has been a dream of their Chicago radio fans since Lujack retired in 1987. Also considered likely to have a major on-air role is Ron Britain, the wildly creative genius who reigned as "King B" on the former WCFL and other Chicago stations for 35 years. | Email: Date: Fri, 10 Jan 2003 22:29:53 -0500 From: Tom Soares <tsoares@scpublicity.com> Subject: Off Topic- Contest Hey Gang, Sorry this is not a contest for or about Jim Peterik or the Ides Of March but I figured I would post it here for you all. I recently have taken on a new client and set up a web site for him. His name is D.K. Davis. D.K.'s style is kind of hard to pigeonhole as it is a blend of Country, Rock, Jazz, with a dash of Elvis and the Beach Boys thrown in for good measure :) LOL Some of you might already be familiar with him and his music. His video "I Fought The Law ( and the law won)" garnered 1st place in the Music Video Awards held in Chicago. It continued to enjoy an extremely long run of airplay on TNN's Video Country as well as numerous international broadcast stations. He has worked with Jim in the past and even has included a version of The Search Is Over on his new CD. His title cut of the Elvis hit song "Return To Sender" is currently number 3 on the Rhythm & Beach chart as well as number 9 on the Music Weekly Countdown. Anyway as a kick off for the web site we are running a contest to win an Autographed copy of his CD. Just visit the site for the details. www.route66entertainment.com/DKframes.htm, Tom |
